Monday

I finished cutting the picture frame. After I sanded, I attached them via screws and nuts. The only thing missing is the drawing I am going to provide of my teacher. It took me mostly the whole period to finish up sanding because of the shortened block we had from PE. I like how the frame looks with the engravings. I also was able to test the bin I previously made for the Stanley 25". It worked but the clip indent was too large thus making it move around. I made minor size changes in the model so then the tape measurer has enough room to not be stuck but not too much room to slide around.

Tuesday

I decided to start on a another project which would also be another gift for a teacher. I was thinking of different things before settling on making a vase. I looked online for pictures and how others the vase as a model first. I found different references to use. I picked a basic design that included to top and bottom and ribs. I used splines to make the ribs which became an issue for me on Wednesday when I was trying o upload each .dxf file to Inkscape.

Wednesday

This day was mainly trying to get the files ready to laser cut. However, when it got the rib, Inkscape wouldn't recognize them. I was only left with the bottom and top. I then tried different ways instead of using the rib's projection. I imported it to a drawing on Fusion and then made it into a pdf instead of .dxf file. This worked and I was able to finish making the files. The laser cut was being used while I was making it and after so I wasn't able to get it cut out. I decided to think of what to make to put in the vase. I believe I will use paper to make flowers.

Thursday

I couldn't cut my vase out sadly because it was being preoccupied still. I ended up working on making a card. I used Jaspreet's alcohol markers. It took a long time because I needed to cut the paper into two. The markers I used bled through so after coloring the front and back, I need to glue another layer then I'd use pen to write the card.
