Monday
I decided to make a shelf box for my dresser that is very cluttered. I want to store each item in their own compartment. I was happy with the model but that was only the draft. It didn't take a lot of time to also start making the projections. I was able to create the DXF files before the period ended. I organized this project into its own folder.
Wednesday
I made only a small change because I thought it looked rather empty. I also rounded the corners of the shelfs to not make it seem too boxy. While making the files I added an engraving on the back where that smoothed part is. I thought it would add a nice touch and not make it seem like a simple box. I was able to cut out a test in cardboard and the distance between each shelf was perfect because all the items I plan on storing aren't actually big and are almost like travel sized products.
Thursday
I cut each piece into 1/8" wood and didn't glue it just yet because I want to sand each part because I plan on painting it over. I plan to paint it before gluing it together because some of the parts look burnt. I loved how it turned out and I think the star is its own uniqueness. I have my own wood glue at home so I plan on using that instead of bringing it back to the shop after painting it.
