This week, I worked on the jewelry box for my Mom. I decided to scrap the old idea I originally had. I like the newest one I made because the door more longer so then you can fit your hand in more easily. I added divots into the walls for the acrylic. I haven't made the bottom yet but I believe I will do the save because these divots will allow me to glow the acrylic into the 3D print. It will not show the messy gluing job too.
I also made more progress onto the Word Clock. I finished tapping the holes for the power bar. Jaspreet helped drill it into the frame with standoffs. It created a nice distance between the frame and the brackets. After that, me and Jaspreet decided to work more on the power bar by learning how to use the connectors. Mr. Christy helped us with it and gave us a suggestion to connect everything and get wires ready before crimping the ring terminals.
We were going to do the ring terminals another day because Mr. Christy is not going to be here on Friday and he had used them for his own project. Another thing he suggested with the word clock was to shorten the jump wires. The longer the jump wire is the more resistance is present. Me and Jaspreet soldered and used heat shrink to wrap around the wires, making it neat and shorter.
